Glass for structural use
A structural member is an entity made of a specific material, has a particular shape, and can bear a load, such as beams, columns, rods, etc. With the continuous improvement of the performance of glass products, the use of glass as a structural material has become a new highlight in modern architecture.
The current main applications are glass fins, glass floors, and glass staircases, etc. These glass structures may be whole buildings or only partial glass parts. Most of them will use tempered laminated glass with SGP interlayer, with high impact resistance.
More and more designers try to use glass to make structural components as a way of architectural expression. Thus, glass as a structural material provides a new platform and also a new challenge. However, VSOM can supply high-quality structural glass to meet our customer’s higher requirements with continuous technical investment and improvements.
