Project Background
This project marks the second collaboration between VSOM GLASS and a U.S.-based distributor. The client mainly supplies various architectural glass products to builders. For this project, the client needed customized glass for multiple skylight projects, aiming to ensure that the skylights provide ample natural lighting while also offering thermal insulation and energy efficiency, thereby enhancing indoor comfort and building energy performance.
Based on the successful prior cooperation, the client once again chose VSOM GLASS to customize a 4+9A+4 Изолированное стекло solution. This structure combines light transmission and thermal insulation, making it particularly suitable for skylights and other applications that require both daylighting and energy efficiency.
Customer Requirements
At the beginning of the project, the client outlined several key requirements:
- The glass must have excellent thermal insulation performance, effectively blocking external heat;
- Good light transmittance to provide bright natural light for the interior;
- Reliable sealing to ensure stable and long-lasting structural integrity of the glass;
- Stable quality and on-time delivery to ensure the smooth progression of the project.

1. Efficient Thermal Insulation
The 4+9A+4 insulating glass provided by VSOM GLASS uses a dual-layer glass structure with a 9mm air space, forming a natural thermal barrier that effectively reduces heat transfer, maintaining stable indoor temperatures. In hot seasons, it significantly reduces air conditioning loads and energy consumption. In winter, it prevents indoor heat loss, thereby achieving energy savings year-round.
2. Bright Light Transmission
The core value of skylights lies in daylighting. VSOM GLASS ensured that the glass has good light transmittance, allowing natural light to fully enter the interior, creating a spacious and bright atmosphere.
3. Sealing and Durability
The long-term performance of insulating glass largely depends on the sealing quality. VSOM GLASS uses low-permeability sealants and precise edge processing to minimize the risk of moisture ingress or air leakage in the air space. Additionally, high-absorbent, durable desiccants are selected to keep the air layer dry.
With these measures in place, the glass is able to better maintain stable structural performance and thermal insulation, providing a reliable user experience for skylights, even in high-humidity or low-temperature environments.
4. Customized Processing and Precision Production
For the skylight installation needs, we thoroughly confirmed the glass dimensions, tolerance control, and edge treatment details before production. Each piece of glass is precisely cut and inspected to ensure perfect compatibility with the customer’s installation structure. This “tailored” production approach allows the customer to complete the installation quickly on-site, improving overall construction efficiency.
Packaging & Transportation: Ensuring Safe Delivery
To ensure the glass’s safety during long-distance transport, VSOM GLASS uses fully sealed plywood crates for packaging. This structure effectively prevents the glass from moisture, impact, or damage caused by vibration during transit.
The cargo was shipped to the U.S. by LCL (Less-than-Container Load) sea freight. We reinforced the packaging before shipping and continuously tracked the shipping progress to ensure the products arrived safely and on time.

Project Results
Upon receiving the glass, the client successfully completed the skylight installation. The insulating glass performed excellently in both thermal insulation and light transmission, meeting the building’s dual requirements for comfort and energy efficiency. The client was very satisfied with the overall performance of this cooperation, particularly recognizing our professionalism in quality control and delivery management.
