Based on this application background, VSOM GLASS recently completed an order of 2.1mm grey float glass exported to Russia for automotive windshield processing.
The client is an automotive glass processing factory in Russia, and this is also the seventh cooperation between VSOM GLASS and the client. After the order was confirmed, it immediately entered the production scheduling stage, and stocking and shipment arrangements were carried out according to plan. From the initial communication to the final container loading and shipment, the entire execution process progressed relatively smoothly, and all production and delivery stages were completed in an orderly manner according to schedule.
Project Requirements
During the early communication stage, the main focus was on confirming the shipment schedule and specific processing requirements for this batch of glass, with discussions mainly centered around dimensions, appearance, and transportation arrangements.
The specific requirements were as follows:
- Thickness Requirement: The glass needed to meet the dimensional requirements for subsequent automotive windshield processing to avoid thickness deviations affecting later cutting and processing.
- Color Requirement: The color of the entire batch of glass needed to remain consistent to ensure a uniform visual appearance in the final windshields.
- Surface Quality Requirement: The glass surface could not contain scratches, bubbles, black spots, or obvious defects in order to avoid affecting subsequent processing and use.
- Delivery Schedule Requirement: Delivery needed to be completed within the agreed timeframe to match the client’s subsequent production arrangements.
- Packaging and Transportation Requirement: Considering the shipment to Russia, the packaging needed to be secure to reduce the risk of damage or displacement during long-distance transportation.
After all requirements were confirmed, the project entered the specific production and execution stage.

Solutions
In response to the actual requirements of this order, VSOM GLASS made corresponding arrangements in three aspects: production control, supply scheduling, and export packaging.
Production Control
This order was produced using 2.1mm grey float glass. For the thickness requirements, VSOM GLASS carried out standardized control of key dimensions during production and conducted dimensional rechecks at the finished product stage to ensure the overall thickness met the requirements for subsequent automotive windshield processing.
For color consistency requirements, VSOM GLASS applied unified production standards and color control for the same production batch and conducted appearance comparison inspections for the entire batch before shipment to ensure overall color consistency and avoid visual differences affecting the final windshield appearance.
For surface quality requirements, VSOM GLASS conducted piece-by-piece inspections of the glass surface after production, focusing on checking for scratches, bubbles, black spots, and other visible defects to ensure the surface condition met the standards for subsequent processing and use.
Production and Shipment
After the order was confirmed, VSOM GLASS arranged the production schedule according to the client’s subsequent processing plan and simultaneously coordinated stocking and shipment procedures. During execution, production progress and shipment timing were continuously coordinated to ensure the overall delivery schedule remained aligned with the client’s subsequent processing arrangements.
Packaging and Transportation
Considering that this order needed to be shipped to Russia by sea and involved a relatively long transportation period, VSOM GLASS used plywood crates for export packaging. During container loading, the glass was arranged and fixed according to its dimensions and quantity to reduce the risk of displacement or collision during transportation.
At the same time, after container loading was completed, the overall fixing condition was further reinforced and inspected to improve safety during long-distance transportation and ensure the goods could arrive at the client’s factory in a stable and complete condition.


Results
All 2.1mm grey float glass products were successfully delivered to the client’s factory in Russia and signed for upon arrival.
After receiving the goods, the client proceeded with the subsequent automotive windshield processing according to schedule. The overall delivery and receiving process was smooth, and the shipment arrangements for this project were completed on time.
