Project Background
This project was located in a restaurant in the United States. The client hoped to enhance the texture and visual layers of the space through the use of glass materials. The restaurant design required the glass to be both aesthetically pleasing and durable, ensuring safety and performance in a high-frequency commercial environment. The client is a contractor specializing in restaurant space construction, and this marks our third collaboration, reflecting a mature working relationship between both parties.
Project Requirements
Through communication with the client, we learned that there were several core requirements for the glass applications in this restaurant project:
- Partial Space Division: The client hoped that part of the glass could provide natural separation between different areas while maintaining spatial transparency and layering.
- Antique Mirror Effect: The client wanted the other portion of the mirrors to feature slight aging treatment on the surface, showing soft color variations to create a warm, vintage atmosphere in the restaurant, while coordinating with the overall interior design.
- Glass Safety and Durability: The glass used for space division needed to have good strength and impact resistance to meet the restaurant’s daily high-frequency usage requirements, while ensuring long-term stability.
Solution
To address the client’s project requirements, VSOM GLASS provided a custom combination of Textured Glass and antique mirrors for the restaurant:
- Ultra-Clear Textured Glass: Designed with striped three-dimensional patterns, used for partial space division within the restaurant. Although the textured glass surface has strong three-dimensional patterns, we selected ultra-clear glass to maintain high transparency, ensuring the space division appears natural without obstructing sight lines. The striped patterns create a gentle separation effect between different areas while adding spatial layering. The glass is 6mm thick and tempered, ensuring good strength and durability in daily use, while adding refined decorative effects to the restaurant.
- Antique Mirror: Also 6mm thick, the surface is treated to create aged effects, presenting soft color variations that bring a vintage touch to the restaurant. The mirror’s reflection is gentle, adding refined decorative appeal and spatial layering rather than the cold effect of modern silver mirrors.
Glass Processing and Delivery
All textured glass and antique mirrors used in the project underwent strict custom processing by VSOM GLASS to ensure precise matching of size, texture, and color with the restaurant design. During processing, textured glass underwent rigorous quality inspection to ensure clear stripes and natural three-dimensional effects; antique mirrors were checked to guarantee even surface color and a soft vintage effect. After processing, all glass panels were carefully packaged in plywood boxes and shipped to the client by air, ensuring safe transport and intact delivery.
