Polish Customer’s Large-Volume Skylight Project

Project Overview

Recently, we completed a batch of customized glass for a customer from Poland, which was used for skylight applications. This order adopted a Low-E insulated tempered laminated glass structure combined with black silk-screen printing. With a large customization quantity, the glass was finally shipped to Poland by sea.

The characteristics of this order were not only reflected in the large quantity, but also involved multiple glass processing technologies, including Low-E processing, insulating, tempering, lamination, and silk-screen printing. How to maintain consistent product quality and processing effects during mass production was an important aspect that needed to be focused on during the delivery of this order.

Project Requirements

The glass purchased by the customer was mainly used for skylight applications. The customer hoped that the glass could meet lighting requirements while also considering thermal insulation performance, safety, and overall appearance.

During the project confirmation process, the customer also paid special attention to the performance of the glass after impact. Therefore, the customer proposed a drop ball test requirement and hoped to further confirm the glass condition through actual testing. Meanwhile, due to the large order quantity, the customer also hoped that each piece of glass could maintain stable and consistent quality during mass production.

Low-E Insulated Tempered Laminated Glass Solution

Through detailed communication, we finally customized a Low-E insulated tempered laminated glass solution suitable for skylight applications. The overall glass structure consisted of 4mm light grey Low-E tempered glass, an 18A insulated glass layer, and 6.38mm Clear Float laminated Glass. In addition, a 55mm wide black silk-screen printed border was added to meet the customer’s requirements for glass performance and appearance.

  • 4mm Light Grey Low-E Tempered Glass
    After tempering, the glass achieves higher strength and impact resistance while combining the thermal insulation characteristics of Low-E glass. Meanwhile, it maintains good light transmission performance.
  • 18A Insulated Glass Layer
    Located between the two glass panes, the insulated glass layer reduces heat transfer through the intermediate air space, thereby improving the overall thermal insulation performance of the glass. At the same time, the insulated glass structure also helps improve the sound insulation performance of the glass and enhance the energy-saving effect of the building.
  • 38mm Clear Float Laminated Glass
    The laminated structure further improves the overall stability of the glass and provides safer performance for skylight applications.
  • 55mm Black Silk-Screen Printed Border
    According to the customer’s requirements, we added a 55mm wide black silk-screen printed border to the glass. This processing created a consistent black visual effect along the glass edges and met the overall appearance design requirements of the customer’s skylight.

Consistency Control During Large-Volume Production

Due to the large customization quantity of this order, consistency during mass production was a key focus throughout the production process.

This order involved multiple processing technologies, including Low-E processing, insulating, tempering, lamination, and silk-screen printing. Each processing step required strict control. Especially for the 55mm wide black silk-screen printed border, during large-volume processing, it was necessary not only to ensure that the printing width met the requirements but also to maintain a consistent edge appearance throughout the entire batch of glass.

Therefore, we inspected each processing step during production and confirmed the finished products after completion, ensuring that the batch-produced glass met the project requirements in terms of structure, dimensions, and appearance.

Further Verification of Glass Performance Through Drop Ball Test

According to the customer’s requirements, we selected glass from the order for a drop ball test. A ball weighing approximately 2.2kg was dropped from a height of 400mm for multiple impact tests. After each test, the glass condition was checked to confirm its performance after impact.

After completing the test, we provided the test results to the customer for confirmation. Ultimately, the test results met the customer’s requirements and satisfied the acceptance standards of this project.

Packaging and Transportation

After production and quality inspection were completed, this batch of skylight glass was packaged in plywood crates.

Due to the large order quantity, the glass needed to be transported by long-distance sea freight. Therefore, the packaging process needed to fully consider product protection during loading, unloading, and transportation. The plywood crates provided stable support for the glass and also facilitated container loading and transportation of bulk products.

Finally, this order was arranged in 2 × 40HQ containers and 1 × 20GP container and shipped to Poland by sea.

From production completion and quality inspection to plywood crate packaging and container loading, the entire batch of glass completed the subsequent delivery according to the planned arrangement.

Conclusion

This skylight glass order for Poland successfully completed the entire delivery process from solution confirmation, production processing, testing, packaging, and transportation. For large-volume customized glass projects, in addition to selecting a suitable glass structure, quality control during production and product protection during transportation are also important factors to ensure smooth project progress.

This batch of customized Low-E insulated tempered laminated glass was finally completed and shipped to Poland, completing the delivery of this skylight glass order.
