Recently, we completed a customized glass processing project for a client from Europe. The client provided detailed dimensions and processing requirements. They required that the glass retain its original cut state (unpolished) at specific positions, while other edges undergo fine polishing to ensure a consistent overall visual effect and tactile feel. In addition, some of the glass was processed with holes according to the client’s requirements. For VSOM GLASS, the precise processing of the glass notch positions and edge treatment was the core challenge of this project, which also made us pay more attention to detail and precision in every stage of the project.
Client Requirements
The client’s requirements for this project were clear and strict, with the following specifications:
- The positions and dimensions of the glass notches must be precise and meet the specifications provided by the client;
- The notched parts of the glass must remain unpolished to ensure accuracy for subsequent processing or installation;
- The non-notched edges of the glass must be finely polished to ensure smooth and neat edges;
- Some of the glass must be drilled according to requirements to ensure precise hole positions and dimensions;
- The product must undergo tempering treatment to ensure strength and durability.

VSOM GLASS Solution
In this project, the processing of the notched parts required by the client was our main technical focus. To ensure the dimensional accuracy and cutting quality of the notched parts, VSOM GLASS used high-pressure waterjet cutting technology to precisely complete the notched processing of the glass while maintaining the unpolished state.
For the drilling requirements, we also carried out precise processing to ensure that the hole positions and dimensions met the client’s specifications. For the non-notched edges of the glass, VSOM GLASS applied professional polishing processes to ensure smooth and even edges. Finally, tempering treatment further enhanced the mechanical performance of the glass, ensuring stability and safety during processing, transportation, and use.

Production Process
To ensure that each piece of glass met the client’s requirements, VSOM GLASS established a systematic production process:
- Drawing verification and process planning: Develop a detailed processing plan based on the dimensions and design provided by the client, clarifying the cutting sequence and edge treatment methods;
- High-pressure waterjet cutting for notches: Precisely control the position and shape of the glass notches to ensure dimensional tolerances meet client requirements;
- Drilling processing: Complete glass drilling according to the drawings, ensuring accurate hole positions and good edge quality;
- Edge polishing:Perform multi-step polishing on the non-notched parts of the glass to ensure smooth touch and neat appearance;
- Tempering treatment: Improve glass strength through tempering, enhance stability during transportation and handling, and reduce the risk of breakage;
- Comprehensive inspection: Inspect each piece of glass for notch dimensions, hole positions, edge polishing, and tempering condition to ensure the product meets client requirements;
- Packaging and delivery: Finally, use professional protective packaging and deliver the glass safely to the client by sea freight.

Project Outcome
The project has now been successfully completed in terms of customized processing. Throughout the process, VSOM GLASS maintained close communication with the client to ensure that the notch positions and dimensions of all glass precisely met their specifications, the hole processing was also accurate, and the non-notched edges were evenly polished. Tempering treatment ensured stable glass strength, and the overall visual effect also met the client’s expectations.
At present, all glass products have been properly packaged and are ready to be shipped to the client by sea according to plan.
Conclusion
This customized project of notched tempered glass once again made us realize that every detail is crucial. The precision of notch cutting, the accuracy of hole processing, the smoothness of edge polishing, the stability of tempering treatment, and proper packaging all directly affect the final result. At the same time, maintaining close communication with the client during processing also helped us confirm every detail in a timely manner, ensuring that the finished products fully met the specifications and expectations. After going through this series of processes, each piece of glass achieved a high standard of processing quality, and we also look forward to the client’s subsequent installation and use.
